Bimota DB1 - 2004 the new star of the collection
I did always want to have an DB1 since I bought the F1 in 1986. As the bike was always out of budget for me I decided 1987 to buy the PASO but a DB1 was always the "state of the art". Only 450 bikes left the factory. Today they are almost impossibe to find. I found the bike in Switzerland and purchased it via Internet auction in Gio´s living room. Gio and I went to Switzerland to pick it up. The bike was in an excellent condition. Gregor, the guy who did own the bike had it since a long time he was using it from time to time for fun on the racetrack. The problems started at the German tax office. It was the first nightmare. The next did wait for me in Luxembourg. Tax for importing a used bike from Switzerland are incredible high. After all the customs and tax procedures I tried to pass Sandweiler. I needed 3 try's to succeed! Resume: Yes - the bike was worth it! |
